This was my third time ordering from here. The first two times I got a create your own salad and they were fantastic! Since I’m not eating lettuce right now, I decided to try the quinoa bowl this time. I ordered my bowl with quinoa, carrots, chickpeas, red onion, red peppers, Brussels sprouts, roasted butternut squash, and grilled chicken, with creamy balsamic on the side. Everything was fresh, but when I got home and opened it, I was honestly surprised by how much of the bowl was just quinoa. Thank goodness I added the Brussels sprouts and roasted butternut squash as extra toppings, because there were very few vegetables otherwise. I ended up having to add more chicken, along with some beets, peppers, and apples I had at home, to make it feel like a complete bowl. For a $17+ bowl with that many toppings selected, I definitely expected a better balance of ingredients instead of mostly quinoa. I’ve really enjoyed my other two orders, so this one was disappointing.

I have been coming to the Salad House now for two years. I’m a competitive bodybuilder and my orders are very specific whether it be the amount of rice or the amount of protein. I need in each salad. Would that being said I called today and I asked to speak to the manager because I came into the store to pick up my side order of steak when I walked in. I had ordered one and I said to the girl can you please tell me how many ounces is in each survey I said because my coach wants me to have a certain amount she said let me look it up and then I proceeded to tell her I needed to have 5 ounces. With that she said “oh it comes prepackaged so I know for a fact it’s 5 ounces” and she did not even look it up ! With that being said I said OK well the bag is kind of light, it certainly doesn’t feel like 5 ounces with that being said I took my to go home. I live on the other side of Toms river and when I got home, I had to call because I put it in my scale and it was only 2.4 ounces now I am 19 days out from a competition and it is very rude and very inaccurate when someone tells you they’re a manager and they’re not! Amazing first experience! I just got a classic caesar salad but it's by far the best, fresh, well proportioned salad I've ever had! I was greeted as soon as I walked in, even though they were busy preparing other meals and was promptly given my food! Well done salad house ! Definitely recommend 10 out of 10 !

Let me begin with the food was fair I expected a lot better for the price… I got the teriyaki bowl and chicken Caesar- The teriyaki is more looks than it is taste and the rice wasn’t cook through and the sauce is bland 3/10 . The Caesar was well portioned I’d say they do better with “ salads” more than any of the extra menu items .. the portions are great and large but all dressings that come with the salads are in so small containers so definitely keep that in mind . Staff were 5/10 couldn’t answer questions about menu items and weren’t friendly …! If you just want a salad definitely the way to go but for a rice bowl or wrap definitely wouldn’t say this place is a “ better” option.

I wish I could give the Salad house more stars TBH. I got catering today for a staff luncheon and it was absolutely amazing. The salads were fresh and delicious, the wraps were unique and fantastic. Our staff was raving about the lunch and I could not be happier with their staff. Chelsea went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of. LOVE The Salad House! Highly recommend.
